"With all that metal construction and payload that they carry, airplanes seem too heavy to be able to take off and stay in the air for hours; and yet they do. How?
What makes an airplane fly?"
The text above is the opening section of the script that I wrote for the first educational video that I authored and produced for the
Youth Aviation Adventure as part of
my volunteer work.
The video talks about the four main aerodynamic forces that act on an airplane and discusses how they interact with and hold the plane in the air, each pushing from a different direction.
I very much enjoyed making the video, constantly remembering about the time that I spend during my endless trips to the
How Things Fly Gallery at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC when I was younger.
The second video that I just released on YAA's
Instagram and
Facebook accounts was about
Careers in Aviation, introducing youth to the many facets of aviation careers including pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers, dispatchers, and mechanics.
